We had the pleasure of shooting Mina and Shean’s beautiful Madinat Jumeirah Wedding on a stormy day in Feb. Now if I say that our kids get pretty excited to see rain, you can get some idea of how rare it is in the UAE. And as luck would have it we managed to escape with a few drops and a blustery wind – which all added to the story of a really beautiful wedding.
Mina and Shean had met us back in October, and described their plans to get married at Layali on the beach. This is one of about 6 wedding venues at the Madinat Jumeirah and arguably the most spectacular with views out to the ocean and Burj Al Arab Hotel. For their reception they chose Magnolia which is a really beautiful private terraced venue surrounded by a meandering waterway. The ceremony was a lovely combination of Western and Persian influences. After exchanging vows and rings the couple moved to the beach, surrounded by family, for the traditional ceremony and Sofreyeh Aghd. After some fun photos in the wind the lovely couple arrived at the reception in style on a traditional styled Arbra boat.
Some highlights of the day for us……Shean shedding a tear at the ceremony…… Mina’s amazing smile lighting everything up………. the really beautiful table settings by Joelle…….. the Zaffa (traditional wedding dancers )……. and the dancing in general in middle eastern weddings cant be beaten!
Mina and Shean had a notable team of wedding specialists to ensure their day was perfect.
